Recovery Plan
|
The WIB will provide employment and training services to adults and dislocated workers, especially in Manufacturing, Health Care, Building and Construction as well as Business and Financial Services to help increase wages. Employment and training services will include the following: On-the –job training support; Customized job training and other special projects that focus on skill development; an increase in funds for Individual Training Accounts to provide training in needed occupations; small group training based on job demands.
Stimulus funding will also target services for, 14-24 years of age. These funds will provide summer jobs and occupational training in order to place youth on a career pathway. Increasing the capacity of youth involvement, the ARRA has adjusted the age range from 14 – 21 years of age to include youth up to 24 years of age. Youth will be placed in summer jobs at public and non-profit agency worksites throughout Westmoreland and Fayette counties.
The plan is listed on the Other Resources tab as Recovery Plan.
